Two soldiers injured on LoC in mine blasts

Rajouri, Feb 18: Two soldiers today morning received multiple splinter injuries and were injured critically at two different places when abandoned mines reportedly came under their feets at forward defence locations (FDLs)
The first incident took place in Khamba area in Nowshera sub division in Rajouri district at about 5 am today a soldier sustained multiple splinter injuries in the mine blast.
He was first rescued to nearby army medical centre for necessary first aid and later was shifted to army hospital at Rajouri.
In another similar incident a Junior Commissioned Officer ( JCO) was injured in the morning today in Forward Defence Location (FDL) in Mankot area in Mendhar in Poonch district.
After initial treatment in the army hospital, the JCO was airlifted to command hospital at Udhampur reportedly due to critical injuries (identity of the soldiers withheld)
Meanwhile after a lull of three days Pakistan army violates truce agreement in Khari-Karmara area in Poonch sector in the evening today,
Pakistani soldiers from their forward posts initiated heavy firing with small and automatic weapons on the Indian forward post in these areas. Pakistani firing was strongly and effectively retaliated by the Indian soldiers forcing the enemy guns to fell silent within half hour. No loss to life or infrastructure was reported from the area" said sources. On February 10 one woman namely Parveen Akhter r/o Pukhrani (Nowshera) had died due to splinter injuries while on February 11, troops of Pakistan army's Mujahidin Battalion had opened indiscriminate firing/ shelling in Tarkundi Gali and Kanga Gali areas in Manjakot sector in Rajouri district but no loss was reporter.
