Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 19: The Jammu and Kashmir government is playing with fire by being soft towards the separatists like so-called JKLF chief Yasin Malik, who becomes Mr Bechara whenever he is put behind the bars.
A politician while talking to Early Times said, "Whenever Malik is sent to prison he manages to come out at one or other pretext. After coming out he stages protests reaches far-off places and instigates people to hit the streets and stage protests."
He said, "This time around he (Malik) was shifted to SKIMS Soura for treatment from Central Jail after he complained about various ailments. He remained at SKIMS for 6-days ad he was released today."
A Kashmir watcher said, "Whenever he is put behind the bars he falls sick and complains that he is a patient. As soon as he comes out his aliment vanishes in thin air and he indulges in anti-national activities."
"One fails to understand that if he (Malik) is so sick then how he manages to visit far-flung areas. He always stages drama in custody and government releases him on health grounds," he added.
He said, "All of us know it very well that Malik was the brain behind 2016 unrest in Kashmir and he is the one who ensured that shutdown prolongs. Government and all security agencies are aware of the fact that Malik is in touch with his bosses sitting across the Line of Control (LoC). Recently he made every possible attempt to run a parallel campaign in Kashmir along with Mumbai attack mastermind Hafiz's Saeed campaign in Pakistan."
An analyst said, "Malik gave a slip to Police and reached Shopian to lead an anti-Army protest there. He is the one who is dictating terms to Hurriyat hawk Syed Ali Shah Geelani and Hurriyat dove Mirwaiz Umar Farooq. His (Malik's) activities have become a threat for peace despite that State &K government seems in no mood to put him in prison for at least two to three years."
He said, "Perhaps India is the only country where anti-national elements, who preach separatism and sedition are given a free hand and are set free on the basis of medical grounds."
An official said, "There are strong inputs that Malik has been asked by his bosses to ensure that Kashmir faces turmoil in 2018. We are keeping a watch on his activities and know what is he up to? If he fails to mend his ways we will put under house arrest like Geelani and Mirwaiz."
