Jammu, Mar 18: To promote the traditional cultural of J&K, & Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Santhan (BLSKS) Jammu & Chinar Art Foundation organized mega traditional cultural programe "Mehfil-e-Kalakar II" at Abhinav Theatre, Jammu on the theme of National Integration and Communal Harmony. The function was inaugurated after lighting the Traditional Lamp by the Chief Guest Sanjay Saraf, National Spokesman and President LJP (Youth). On the occasion, a Kashmiri play "Raesi Agur (…the lost origin)" was performed. The play was designed as a fine piece of Art display. The play is a humble effort to refresh the memory of the audience by including the ages-old tradition of staging 'Maskharas' as 'Sootredhars' in the presentation. Besides highlighting the social evils prevailing in the society, the play as its title suggests passes a strong message to the audience of preserving the centuries old brotherhood and communal harmony which is need of the hour. The play revolves around agony of Kashmiris with special reference to their migration in other parts of the country including Jammu Region. Not only this, play also strongly advocated on remedial measures for strengthening the composite fabric of "Unity in Diversity". The play was written by JK Koul (Bezan), Music by Rajesh Khar & Directed by Sachin Dhar. The Chief Guest in his speech appreciated the role of Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan and Chinar Art Foundation Jammu to present folk theatre and art for highlighting the Cultural heritage through live performances of Art and Culture which are still very powerful medium of various social evils & welfare schemes for betterment of society and preservation of dying art and culture.
As a mark of respect, Life Time Achievement Award of excellence were also presented to MP Sharma, Mushtaque Ali Ahmed Khan, Kanwal Razdan the eminent personalities who have given valuable years of their life for keeping the theatrical activities alive in and outside the State of J&K.
