Jmu medico terminated, Sgr employee enjoys privileges
K Koushal3/19/2018 2:09:40 PM

Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 18: Reflecting the bias against employees belonging to Jammu region, the state government has terminated the services of Dr Amit Kumar, Registrar (Anaesthesia) of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) for his Facebook post violating the recently issued SRO 525 which bars a government employee from writing on social media against the government, but a valley based employee who had commented on her facebook account against the country was enjoying all privileges.
Bhartiya Janta party (BJP) which is partner in ruling government has clearly failed in protecting the Jammu based employees against the traditional bias faced by them.
In an order issued by the Government Medical College Jammu on March 15, the services of Dr Amit Kumar were terminated after: "He used his personal social media account (Facebook) and commented with the intent of provoking readers." The termination order reads: "Whereas Dr Amit Kumar furnished an affidavit at the time of joining as Registrar (Anaesthesia), where upon he solemnly affirmed and declared that in case of any misconduct or negligence on his part, his engagement shall be terminated." The order claims to have issued a show cause notice to Amit Kumar on March 12, giving him two days to explain his position after which he has now been terminated.
"How many times you will win us. Pakistan we are yours, yours and yours only. Love from Indian Occupied Kashmir.
Pakistan is second home", commented Saalika Masood on her facebook account who is also posted in Health Education Department.
"The comment of Salika Masood is Anti-India and the government did not dare to initiate any action against her which speaks of dual yardstick of the government", said a senior officer of Jammu questioning why government turned blind eye towards the comment of valley based medico which is incitement to rebellion.
As per SRO 525 issued in December last year: "No government employee shall engage in any criminal, dishonest, immoral or notoriously disgraceful conduct on social media which may be prejudicial to the government." "They shall also not use their personal social media accounts for any political activity or endorse the posts or tweets or blogs of any political figure and also shall not use their accounts in a manner that could reasonably be construed to imply that the government endorses or sanctions their personal activities in any matter whatsoever. They shall also not post inflammatory, extraneous message in an online community with the intent of provoking readers into emotional response or of otherwise disrupting normal, on topic discussion," the SRO reads. Pertinently, the termination order of Amit Kumar quotes SRO 525 for disengaging him from government service.
