Early Times Report

Jammu, Mar 18: Navreh Milan, which was organised for the exiled community members today, was marked with gaiety & the Kashmiri Pandit New Year was heralded with prayers for peace, prosperity & dignity for the community. Addressing a large gathering, President All Sate Kashmiri Pandit Conference, Advocate Ravinder Raina hoped that the New Year would usher in peace & brotherhood in the beleaguered State which could pave the way for a dignified return of the Kashmiri Pandit community to the valley. Reflecting on the outreach of ASKPC towards the community issues, he said that ASKPC took a strong stand against the casual approach of the Central Govt. appointed interlocutor, while inviting various KP organisations for deliberations & feedback. Elaborating further, ASKPC had suggested that only elected bodies be called for formal meetings and had demanded an adequate time slot to present their stand in a meaningful way. Ravinder Raina reiterated that ASKPC is open to the community and the Executive Body would welcome any constructive criticism as well as suggestions.
Chief Guest, Vijay Bakaya emphasized on strengthening the core KP organisations like ASKPC & KPS. Earlier, Veena Gurtoo, President Women Wing welcomed the guests and conducted the felicitation ceremony of the Chief Guest Vijay Bakaya & Guest of Honour DN Kissu, who while reminiscing about the contribution of ASKPC in upliftment & welfare of the KP community also acknowledged the continuation of past traditions by the present executive body led by Advocate Ravinder Raina.
