BJP unnerved - Hammered by JKHCBAJ & Civil society Jammu
4/8/2018 9:27:59 PM
Mahadeep Singh Jamwal

It is a matter of great worry that coalition government
in J&K has pushed Jammu region into a point of saturation in discrimination and BJP representation to a waste product. Jammuites are left with no backup except sane society to advance for "bandh calls, processions and suspension of works". Realizing it Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association Jammu (JKHCBAJ) has adopted democratic way of agitating the things by suspension of works in the courts and supported by civil society. The four main issues pressed for are; illegal directions issued by CM in pursuance to a meeting of Tribal Affairs Department, handing over of investigation to CBI for fair investigation in the 'Rassana Murder' case, deportation of illegally settled 'Rohingyas' in Jammu, and resolving issues being agitated by people of Nowshera, Sunderbani, and Kalakot. It will be fair to through some light on the role of BJP Ministers and MLAs in all the four issues. During the meeting of Tribal Affairs Department, Tribal Affair MoS from BJP was very much present in the meeting but dare not open his mouth while CM issued such directions, discriminatory in nature. In 'Rassana murder' two heavy weight BJP Cabinet Ministers jumped into the fray with much pump and show but after being frowned by PDP, they back tracked and silenced like a used bullet. Earlier scattered voice of BJP ministers and MPs, MLAs were heard about deportation of 'Rohingyas' but now each and everyone from BJP is tight lipped after involvement of its leader, an office bearer of Mahila Morcha of BJP, surfaced in providing lands for the settlement of Rohingyas in Jammu (media reports on 14 March 2018). The agitation in Nowshera and adjoining area at its initial stage was much pampered by respective BJP MLAs, termed as "Fuski Bomb" (means huge noise without any effect) but they have to move to oblivion after PDP accused BJP for sparking agitation in the area for political gain. So collectively these are the BJP ministers, MPs, MLAs and MLCs to be criticized for it and decision of JKHCBAJ is hitting the target at the right time. That has traumatized the BJP. If one aspires, a society without discrimination, then one must not discriminate against anyone in the process of building this society. The peaceful society cannot be desired by hatred, protests and violence. Representatives, whose minds change with the changing polls, required to be well advised to pay heed to do the right thing. But when the government and peoples representatives, pay no heed to the voice of commoner, media concern and frequent personnel and collective visits to their offices as well at public hearing stages, the only left over remedy with the commoner is the way that is visible at present. It is the duty of the elected representatives to ensure their duties under the Constitution and lawfully exercise their powers. When we generally think about people's representatives what strikes us is, what their actions towards us. When their actions directly or indirectly hurt us or disappoint us we feel hatred against them. The productivity of Ministers, MPs, MLAs and MLCs from Jammu quantum and notably their button up to the unfairness with Jammuites, when viewed in bona fide relativity, we should not straddle to stigmatize them as anti Jammu minds and pro Kashmir based politicians. The Modi upsurge propelled them in the Assembly and alliance of advantage desiring for power cupidity parceled a dozen of BJP MLAs as Ministers in the coalition government. The discrimination with Jammu (Whole province) has unzipped the alarming juncture in the present set up of coalition government. This all is due to the active machination of our models sent to the Assembly and half of them to the ministerial berths in the government. Every third day pages of print media are full of adventures carrying the fairy tales of discrimination in every field that may be jobs, selections, sports stadium, hospitals, allotment of funds and what not. Our BJP Ministers, MPs, MLAs and MLCs, representing Jammu province never come forward to say even a single word to highlight or condemn this discrimination. Why it is so? Can well be inferred by every responsible person that it is because to their power lust, minting money and enjoying every bit of facility on the tax payers money. The BJP ministers are on the power seats only because of blessings of the central BJP leadership (much talked probably because of blessings from Nagpur) otherwise this is the worst form of ministerial representation from Jammu that has proved as most incapable and inexperienced and has become a burden for the Jammu people. I mistrust that there is a single family which is not damning these MLAs and Ministers in their closet circle and being responsible citizen many of people keep silent in open environment. Overall a frenzy of hatred can very well be observed against this fraternity in whole society and across the region.
The other annoying concern is the silence of many community based organizations which are concerned with the welfare and uplift of their communities only but least apprehensive of the discrimination of Kashmir centric government and about the sensibility of their representatives in meeting out discrimination with Jammuites. Communities are the heart of counties, states and nations. When families thrive; communities thrive. Accordingly many other 'Fronts' operating in Jammu rarely remonstrates and discourses on discrimination. We find top ranking organizations in Jammu overflowing with galaxy of intelligent minds from all walks of life, mentioned in news papers in organizing some other social bindings and in celebrations of prominent days, but they never raise their voices against the discrimination with Jammuites. Why they never assert their self against these Ministers and representatives for their alarming attitude of discrimination? This may be due to the reasons that disgruntled element of politics find rooted in NGOs on their strength of money and exploitation. We should not forget that political persons with political affiliations when stand rejected on both fronts by the party and people they take refuge in such non political organizations just to remain in prominence riding on the shoulders of NGOs succeed in changing the basic cause of these social organizations. So these organizations are required to keep such disgruntled element at a reasonable distance. Different platforms exist at the optimum level raised to protest against discrimination but these are just small fries and failed to put any effect on the repressive attitude of the government or the elected representatives from Jammu. Much of the discriminations, social, economic, employment and other issues faced by the people can be deciphered, if people around the region get united as a one entity for common cause rather than to look like winter frogs making much noise at the individual level to register their presence at the periphery of a seasonal pond. When the people of the region will develop a sense of unity among themselves, the government and elected representatives are bound to focus on economic development, and to do away their discriminatory attitude. Till we have unproductive representation and scattered voice of Jammu, the discrimination with Jammuites will be all time affair. So the four days suspension of work announced by Jammu Bar, just after BJP tried to calm down the feelings of the most learned community of the society by contributing from their CDF, Rs. 50 lakh for 'Bar Room', is a red light signal for BJP Ministers, MPs, MLAs, and MLCs to act wisely and warning signal to coalition government to stop discrimination with Jammuites. This move of 'Jammu Bar' and civil society must be supported and strengthened by all those who claim to be champion of Jammu cause.
