Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, Apr 8: Much has been said over the cancellation of attachments and deployments in the education department but practically there are dozens of teachers/master grades who are still on deployment in different schools in various education zones of Srinagar and Baramulla districts.
"Recently government ordered cancellation of the officers/officials of the school education department including teaching staff presently attached in other departments, and perhaps they forget to cancel the attachments of teaching staff that were deployed in different schools, said sources.
The order said all the detached employees shall be deemed to have been relieved with immediate effect and directed to report back to their original places of postings in the School Education Department wherefrom they have been attached.
Sources said that the Minister for Education, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari has felt that the teachers should be allowed to concentrate on primary goal of imparting education and for that they should be relieved of all other duties," the minister said adding that the teaching staff is being appointed by the Government with the particular purpose of performing specific duties of imparting education and their deployment in other Departments is proving detrimental for the interests of the students.
However sources said that there are 8 education zones in Srinagar district, including Srinagar, Batmaloo, Hawal, Zaldagar, Rainawari, Nishat, Gulabbagh and Iddgah.
They said that, number of teachers are still deployed in the different schools and offices, and the concerned officials are itself in dilemma how to run the department if deployments were cancelled in letter and spirit.
Meanwhile sources from Baramulla district said that the district is having 18 Educational Zones including Baramulla, Uri, Boniyar, Jullah, Chandanwari, Chandoosa, Dangerpora, Fathegrah, Dangiwacha, Wagoora, Tangmarag, Kunzer, Nehalpora, Pattan, Rohama, Singpora Kalan, Singhpora Pattan, and Sopore, adding there are many teachers/mastergrades who have not been detached yet.
Knowledgeable sources informed early times that," there are 4 master grade posts from which two got transferred but there wasn't replacement for the same, while as 3rd post master grade was deployed to ZEO office Chandoosa in Baramulla district and same is the position in other zones of this district.
The Director School Education, Dr. G.N. Itoo has directed all the Chief Education Officers and Zonal Education Officers who have not relieved the teaching staff working in their offices in any capacity to detach them and relieve them immediately to their original place of posting.
Sources said that there are number of teachers/master grades that are drawing salaries from schools and delivering their duties in education zones of Baramulla district.
