Poonch, Apr 7: The poonch civil society and local leaders have demanded high level probe into released funds to Irrigation and Fllid Control and PWD before further funds are released to them.
Cabinet minister Zulafqar Ali Choudhary on his Poonch visit organised a combined meeting of the officials of Public Works (R&B) Department, Flood Control and Irrigation department and Rural Development Department and Panchayati Raj in Poonch and assured all departments adewuate release of funds.
According to the sources, all the officials of said departments have demanded more funds for Poonch. It is pertinent to mention that millions of rupees have been embezzled by these departments in different areas, which is to be investigated through high level investigation agencies.
Sources informed that PWD Poonch has thrown sand in the eyes of government and befooled minister for demanding more funds whereas many already sanctioned roads are waiting their completion after releasing all funds in this district. Same is in FC and Irrigation Poonch where department has blackmailed the minister and government as officers of the said department have also embezzled funds in the garb of Kuls, canals, embankments protection works etc. |
