Janipur-Roop Nagar Civil Society Forum felicitates Vikram Malhotra

JAMMU, Apr 8: Janipur-Roop Nagar Civil Society Forum today felicitated noted social activist and senior Congress leaderVikram Malhotra for getting implemented a Government order from Jammu & Kashmir High Court for teaching of Dogri as one of the compulsory subjects in Government as well as private schools in Jammu province.
Its important to mention here that in a significant direction in a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by Vikram Malhotra, the Division Bench of J&K High Court on 2nd April, 2018, directed the J&K Board of School Education to teach regional languages in all Government and private schools without any discrimination from the current academic session.
A felicitation function was organized by Amit Kapoor, president, at Janipur, Ward No 37, where Vikram Malhotra was honoured.
Speaking on the occasion, Malhotra expressed his gratitude to the organizers of the function for felicitating him.
"Though we have succeeded in getting the much awaited direction from the High Court for teaching of Dogri and other regional languages as one of the compulsory subjects in government and private schools in the state but still we have to continue our struggle at the ground level so that Dogri and other regional languages get their due recognition."
