Gandhi Nagar, Miransahib zones shines in football championship

Jammu, Apr 13: Gandhi Nagar, Jammu & Miran Sahab Zones have lifted Girls U/12, 16 & 19 yrs Inter Zonal District Level Football Championship under Let's Play Football Co-branded with Khelo India defeating Arnia Zones in U/12 & U/19 & Akhnoor Zones in U/16 age categories respectively.
The games were played at B.S.F. Paloura Ground and at Sainik Public School Football Ground, Sainik Colony. In all 550 Girls drawn from 42 teams across 14 Zones of District Jammu took part in the competitions. The competitions were organized by Department of Youth Services & Sports under the patronage of Sheikh Fayaz Ahmad, KAS, Director General, Youth Services & Sports and under the supervision of Madan Lal, Joint Director Youth Services & Sports Jammu, while Chanchal Kour, DYSSO Jammu was the organizing secretary of the event.
Ajit Singh Tomar, Deputy Commandant (Sports Officer BSF Paloura) who was chief guest on the concluding ceremony distributed the trophies among the winners & runner's up teams. While addressing the participants, Tomar Said that the student should take the benefit of Centrally sponsored schemes in Sports particularly the girls students who should come forward and show their talent in such tournaments.
Those present on the occasion were ZPEO's Jeet Singh, Sher Singh, Jaswant Singh, Jasbir Singh, Tarsem Singh, Kiran Jyoti, Veena Tikoo, Smt Anju Gupta, Smt. Poonam Kotwal, Smt. Chander Kanta, Smt. Ravi Thakur and other officials of the department of Youth Services & Sports.
