Lal Singh, Ganga sacked ahead of PDP meet
Coalition Crumbling
4/14/2018 12:18:58 AM
Early Times Report
Srinagar, Apr 13: A day before the crucial meeting of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the two BJP Ministers, Choudhary Lal Singh and Chander Prakash Ganga were sacked for their alleged role in lending support to the accused arrested in connection with the rape and murder case of an eight year old nomad girl in Kathua.
Sources told Early Times that both the ministers submitted their resignations to the party president Sat Sharma.
Both the Ministers had to resign in the backdrop of outrage over their participation in a rally organised by Hindu Ekta Manch to support the accused.
Insiders revealed that PDP had conveyed it to BJP high command that if both the ministers don't tender their resignations the party would pull out from the coalition.
Meanwhile, Kathua MLA Rajiv Jasrotia has reportedly been missing for the past two days after being questioned about the rape and murder of the eight-year-old girl in his constituency.
Earlier one of the important minister from PDP, Haseeb Drabu was sacked from cabinet over his controversial remarks on Kashmir.
Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah on Friday urged incumbent state chief minister Mehbooba Mufti to take stringent action against the ministers who are supporting the accused in Kathua rape and case. Omar asserted that the ministers who have allegedly threatened the police to not make arrests, have no right to stay in the cabinet.
