Missing girl found dead mysteriously

Jammu, Apr 13: A mentally unsound girl who was missing since 9th April was found dead under mysterious circumstances from a seasonal nallah at Chowki Choura.
Police spokesman said that on 10th April of 2018, one Madan Lal father of village Chowki Tehsil Chowki Choura lodged a missing report in Police Post Chowki Choura that his daughter namely Rajni Devi who is mentally unsound is missing from her house since 09.04.2018 at about 0830 hrs.
In this regard, a missing report has been lodged in the Police Post Chowki Choura vide DD no. 04 dated 10.04.2018 and search of the missing girl initiated in and around the surrounding areas.
Spokesman further said that today (early morning) information received at Police Post Chowki Choura that the body of the said missing girl was found floating in a small seasonal nallah (locally known as Dabbar) which is located at a distance of about 70 meters from her house.
"The body of the deceased was taken into possession and after completing on spot formalities shifted to SDH Akhnoor for autopsy", said spokesman adding that the Post-mortem of the deceased was conducted by the board of doctors in presence of Executive Magistrate.
FSL team also reached on spot and conducted forensic related formalities, the dead body was later handed over to legal heirs for last rites, said spokesman.
As the cause of death needs to be ascertained, an inquest proceeding under section 174 CrPC has been initiated at police post Chowki Choura and the enquiry was entrusted to In-charge police post Chowki Choura, SI Ravi.
