| Indain army always ready to defeat any misadventure on LoC: GOC 16 Corps | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, Apr 13: Lt Gen Saranjeet Singh, GOC, White Knight Corps have admitted the breach of LoC by a group of four terrorists in Sunderbani sector recently due to tough terrains, rivulets and dense forests.
However, he said these terrorists had not entered our soil by cutting the fence but by adopting other measures which can't be disclosed.
He was interacting with the local scribes on the side lines of Rajouri day celebrations at Rajouri and said every attempt by the terrorists to infiltrate under the guise of Pakistan army firing / shelling has been foiled by the Indian army as it has been receiving active support from people of every section.
While denying in the increase in the activities of OGWs in the district, Lt Gen Saranjeet Singh said there is no need for any crackdown against such elements because only 1-2 OGWs are active and they are under scanner by the army.
As for as frequent cease fire violations (CFVs) by the Pakistan army and measures taken by the Central Government has taken, GOC, 16 Corps said, "Every measure taken by the Central government is being implemented by the Indian Army and giving Pakistan army getting befitting and strong response from Indian Army".
He admitted that terrorists training camps are still active across the LoC and between 150-200 terrorists waiting for their turn to infiltrate with active support from the Pakistan army, locals and local administration.
"Pakistan army continuously is targeting Indian army's forward locations as well as civil areas in order to push these terrorists under the cover of heavy firing and shelling. But their every attempt has been foiled strongly and effectively" said GOC, 16 Corps
He added Indian army is always ready and capable to give befitting and strong reply (already giving) to any misadventure on the LoC by Pakistan army.
He added people of India and army want peace for the development and it is better we maintain peaceful areas for the development. |
