Students hold strong protest in Doda

Doda, Apr 16: Thousands of students from various educational institutions including students from GDC Doda today staged a strong protest at District Hqr Doda in Chenab Valley region, demanding justice for Kathua victim who was brutally raped and murdered in Village Rasana of Jammu's Kathua District.
The students were seen holding placards in their hands, depicting different messages calling for justice in the case of victim’s rape and murder. Speaking on the occasion, one of the male student said that aim of holding this protest was to draw attention towards the violence against women all over world, while a female student, demanded that the culprits of this heinous crime be hanged till death besides demanded a fair investigation into the incident. Raising different slogans, the protesting students demanded stern punishment to culprits to the extent that in future no one dares to do such an shameful act. Later the protest ended peacefully. Meanwhile, Young Social Activist from Doda Rashid Hakeem Zargar demanded stringent action against the culprits as well as those tried to save them. They should be given harsh punishment so that it will deter others from doing such acts in future, Zargar added.
Further he told that modesty of women must be respected and rape victim was not the daughter of the nomadic family only but of the whole country.
