| Doda school found locked, people demand action | | Of 4 teachers, 3 are attached at Thathri | |  Asif Iqbal Naik

Jammu, Apr 16: The people of village Ghoru and its adjoining areas today rued the closure of a school due to non availability of teachers as against the staff strength of four teachers, three teachers are working in nearby schools at Thatri.
As per the details available with "Early Times" the Government Upper Primary School Ghoru Chirallah, Zone Thathri (U-DISE Code: 01091704902) of Doda District was found locked when the students along with their parents reached the school. The angry parents said that the school remains closed for very often. Earlier this month , the school remained closed for 3 days.
The matter was raised with the concerned without results. Around 40 students read in the school and a single teacher teaches them.
The only teacher was identified by the people as Romesh Kumar Charak. They identified the others as Rajni Devi, Rachna Devi and Talib Hussain. All of them are attached in other schools.
The people said that even if school remains open, the single teacher who mostly remains absent was unable to teach them all the subjects.
They added that even ZEO promised posting of some teachers in the school, but nothing was done so far.
They said that the officials of education department were hand in glow with these teachers and are deliberately avoiding their repeated pleas under political pressure.
The ZEO simply refused to detach the attached teachers with the excuse that all the attachments were made at behest of local MLA.
The villagers have sought intervention of the education minister.
