DPS Jammu organizes World Health Day

Jammu, Apr 16: As a part of World Health Day Activities, DPS Jammu initiated a 2 day Health Awareness Programme for students of Class I today. The resource persons were Dr. Neelam Khajuria, Dr. Savneet Kour and Supreet Kour, School counselor. Only a healthy body has healthy mind and both these things lead to successful and healthy country. Dr. Neelam talked about the importance of general health, hygiene and nutrition. She encouraged children to regularly consume milk, fruits and green vegetables for their overall growth and development. She also stressed upon developing good habits among children right from their tender age. Dr. Savneet Kour demonstrated the correct techniques and importance of brushing, flossing and rinsing. She made the children aware about how excessive candies and chocolates cause cavities and cause harm to teeth. Supreet Kour, Counselor, conducted interesting activities on Time-Management and re-inforced timely completion and prioritizing of all important activities in life. Principal, DPS Jammu, Ruchi Chabra congratulated the faculty for organizing such an informative and interesting session for the young ones and said that it was very important for all to stay fit and healthy, both mentally and physically. She also gave away the prizes to children for different activities.
