Jammu, Apr 16: 18th Jammu District Sport Climbing Championship is going to organize by Mountaineering Association of J&K in collaboration with Sprawling Buds ICSE School, Bantalab, Jammu on 26th April, 2018. The Jammu district competition shall be followed by Udhampur, Reasi and Samba district sport climbing competitions from 27th April onwards.
About 250 climbers from various institutions of Jammu district are likely to vie for honors in the competition which may extend to the second day on 27th April in case the competitions are not completed on the first day.
The competitions to be conducted on the pre fabricated fiber glass 40ft high Tenzing Norgay Sport Climbing Wall in Sprawling Buds ICSE school premises shall be held in eight categories of Men, Women (born in 2001, 2000 and earlier), Boys, Girls (born in 2002, 2003 & 2004); Sub Jr. Boys / Girls (born in 2005 and 2006) and Mini Boys/Girls (born in 2007 and after) .
Whereas Men, Women, Boys and Girls shall compete both in 'lead climbing' and 'speed climbing' Sub Junior Boys/Girls and Mini Boys and Girls shall participate in 'lead climbing' only. For registration and further information interested climbers /institution/ clubs should contact Sonam Sidharth, an executive member of Mountaineering Association of J&K, on Mob. No: 9622396960. On the spot registration shall also be done at Sprawling Buds ICSE School from 7.30am to 8am on 26th April, 2018. However, the Association has decided not to allow zonal medalists for this district level competition so as to pave way for the budding climbers to come up. |
