Jammu, Apr 25: The people of Keshwan today rued the poor condition of 15 KM Nagnigard-Keshwan road and called upon the government to take immediate measures for blacktopping the road as the same has become a nuisance for the daily commuters due to its dilapidated condition.
The people of Keshwan informed the "Early Times" that after snowfall the road suffered further damages as a result of which the PMGSY department which is executing agency of this road put the machines into service for clearing the slips and boulders. But the machines instead damaged the road.
They said that though the road was operational since last 3-4 years, the department takes no step for improving the surface of the road so that it could be made traffic worthy and called upon the state government to take immediate and necessary measures for upgradation of this road providing connectivity to more than 5000 people. Meanwhile MLA from Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori today showed his displeasure over the delay in opening of Kishtwar-Sinthan National Highway connecting Kishtwar District of Jammu province with summer capital Srinagar. In a press statement issued here today, Saroori said that all important roads' including Mughal Raod has been cleared for the traffic but only Kishtwar-Sinthan road is yet to be opened. He said that during Congress regime, this road was thrown open in March ending. Saroori said that on public request, he used its own resources to clear a portion of the road. He has sought immediate and appropriate measures.
