Education Deptt violates own order against mid-session transfers
'Choice postings offered to blue eyed under garb of rationalization
5/3/2018 11:23:42 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, May 3: Jammu and Kashmir Education Department has violated its own order against mid-session transfer of teachers by affecting full scale reshuffle of teaching staff in the schools of Doda district under the garb of rationalization of staff.
Sources informed Early Times that in a single order, the Chief Education Officer, Doda has shifted dozens of teachers across all zones at a time when the academic session is in full swing.
The transfers have been ordered just within a fortnight since the education department issued clear directive refraining its officers from effecting transfers of teachers in the mid- session. The current session in the winter zone of Jammu region and Kashmir valley started with the opening of schools on Feb 24, 2018, after 2 month winter vacations.
"Choicest postings have been sold under the garb of rationalization of staff, this is what for the order has been issued" said a local teacher, adding that on April 5, the Government had ordered complete ban on transfer of teaching staff in view of the beginning of the academic session in Kashmir division and the winter zone of Jammu division.
While the present order has been issued, in the garb of rationalization of staff, most of the transfers have been made to adjust blue eyed teachers in township schools, said a teacher wishing not to be named. "According to the order, 7 to 8 teachers have been posted at Girls Higher Secondary School, Bhaderwah, despite the school being already overstaffed," an official said.
The violation has invoked strong resentment among the teachers and the students who described the transfer order as a move taken to adjust influential teachers against choicest postings.
The cellphone number of CEO Doda, mentioned on the official website was found to be incorrect.
