| Notorious criminal held with country made pistol | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 18: Gandhi Nagar police today claimed to have arrested a notorious criminal and recovered country made pistol along with two live rounds from his possession.
Police spokesman said that today police party from Gandhi Nagar established naka at Shamshan Ghat Chowk Shastri Nagar for checking/ frisking of vehicles.
When the police party was checking/frisking the vehicles one motorcycle bearing registration number JKO2BL-3418 coming towards naka was also stopped for checking and on checking one country made pistol and two live rounds were recovered from the possession of the motorcyclist who during questioning disclosed his name as Tajinder Singh alias Jinda of Ward No. 2 Simbal Camp Jammu.
Police spokesman said that accordingly a case under FIR No. 116/2018 under section 3/25 of Arms Act was registered at Gandhi Nagar and investigation started.
It is pertinent to mention here that the arrested accused is a notorious criminal who was recently bailed out from PSA and a number of cases of attempt to murder, stabbing and keeping/possession of illegal arms etc. has been registered against him in different police stations of district Jammu.
The arrest and recovery has been made by Inspector Sunil Singh Jasrotia, SHO Gandhi Nagar assisted by SI Kali Charan under the supervision of SDPO City South Rafiq Manhas, SP City South Sandeep Choudhary and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta. |
