One vehicle lifter arrested; 3 stolen motorcycles, 3 scooties recovered

Jammu, May 18: In continuation to operation Chatak, a drive against vehicle lifters, today AVTAR team headed by SHO Gangyal achieved success with the recovery 06 two wheelers.
Police spokesman said that on May 16, 2018, one Ajay Kumar of Gangyal reported at Police Station Gangyal that on 02-05-2018 he had parked his motorcycle (Royal Enfield) bearing registration number JK02CA-8210 at Gangyal Chowk and when came back and found that the said M/Cycle was stolen by some unknown person(s).
Acting on the complaint a case under FIR No. 43/2018 under section 379 of RPC was registered at Police Station Gangyal and investigation started.
"During investigation many suspects were rounded up and raids were conducted in suspected locations to recover the stolen vehicle", said spokesman adding that after hectic efforts, Police arrested one suspect namely Sunder Pal Singh presently staying at Jagti Colony Nagrota.
Spokesman further said that during questioning he revealed his involvement in above said theft case and on his disclosure the said stolen motorcycle was recovered and during further questioning he also admitted his involvement in some other vehicle theft cases. On his disclosures one Royal Enfield M/Cycle bearing registration number JK02CA-8210, one Bajaj Discover without registration number, one Passion Plus bearing registration number JK02AL-7377, one Scooty Activa En No. JK08E8029028.
Black color, one Scooty Activa Engine number JC44E2067905 white color and one Scooty Maestro bearing registration number JK02AX-5808 were recovered.
The arrest and recovery was made by the team headed by SI Nayat Ali, SHO Police Station Gangyal under the close supervision of SDPO City South Jammu Mohd Rafiq Manhas and SP City South, Jammu Sandeep Chaudhary.
