Jammu, June 10: Tributes were offered to Mian Dido on his balidan dewas on at Mian Dido Chowk Ambhalla Jammu.
Mian Dido was a great warrior and people of that era had great respect, love and affection for him and his great deeds. Large number of people from different parts of the state irrespective of caste and creed were assembled at Ambphalla Chowk Jammu to pay homage to their respected warrior Mian Dido.
Floral tributes were offered at the statue of great warrior by the gathering.
MLA Nagrota and National Conference Provincial President Mr Devender Singh Rana on Sundaystressed the crucial need of promoting rich Dogra culture and heritage, saying these symbolise the spirit of love, compassion and inclusiveness.
"We are inheritors of a glorious ethos, bequeathed by warriors like Mian Dido, who showed by their actions and deeds their love for humanity during most difficult times", Mr Rana said while paying tribute to the great Dogra warrior on Balidan Diwas of Mian Dido here this afternoon.
MLC Mr Ashok Khajuria, former MLC Mr Trilochan Singh Wazir, Retired Session Judge Mr Udhey Veer Singh, Chairman Team Jammu Mr Zorawar Singh and President Mian Dido Welfare Committee, Mr Sumant Singh Jamwal were among the hundreds who paid homage to the Dogra iconic hero at his memorial at Amphalla.
Paying tributes, MLC and senior BJP leader Mr Ashok Khajuria aid the life of Mian Dido has been full of selfless service and sacrifice that remains the high point of Jammu ethos even now.
Khajuria said that Jammu has been abode of warriors and great social workers who have immensely contributed in protecting the dignity and honour of the people and forging bonds of amity between various segments of society. He called upon people to work for strengthening the spirit of unity and amity, saying unity in diversity as a very strong point of the great land of warriors.
On the occasion, MLA Mr Devender Singh Rana and MLC Mr Ashok Khajuria announced Rs 10 lakh each out of their Constituency Development Fund for construction of a Community Centre. Mr Khajuria also announced another Rs 10 lakhs for development of Mian Dido Memoria at Amphalla Chowk in Jammu.
