Panthers Party flays BJP for not demanding CBI probe in Rassana case

Early Times Report

BISHNAH, June 10: Harsh Dev Singh JKNPP Chairman and former minister today said that if Jammu region faced an existential threat today it was more so from BJP than anybody else. He said that BJP's duplicitous character, its lust for power, its lame duck posturing and vested interests of its opportunist leaders posed the gravest threat the very identity and culture of Dogras besides their survival as a class.
Harsh said that having reposed their faith in BJP and given it a massive, overwhelming mandate, the people of Jammu were the most dis-appointed lot today. The BJP which used to shed a monsoon of tears here, there and everywhere for Jammu's empowerment had given the deadliest blow to the cause of Dogra land by surrendering over all its election time promises, he said.
"BJP's surrenders will shock the progeny. It's rule would go down as the gloomiest phase in the history of Jammu. Its surrenders would continue to haunt the posterity. And surrenders through unforgettable may still fade a bit in our heart and minds but insult to our honour and pride is a memory that will refuse to go. No matter we live or die", said Harsh in an emotionally charged atmosphere. He was addressing huge public meetings in Khari, Bishnah today.
"We don't say that BJP did not raise its voice. Of course it surely did. The voice was however raised in the media only. And these whispers and murmurs made in the media drowned in the immense silence observed in cabinet meetings so as to avoid offending Mehbooba," said Harsh.
He said that prior to elections the BJP and its cheer leaders would nail anyone and everyone for not doing enough for Jammu but had shocked their electorates after elections by their consecutive somersaults and lame duck approach. While the issue of Rohingyas and Bangladeshis had created an alarm in entire Jammu region, the BJP leaders made statements of evicting them umpteen times for public consumption only without any follow up action during the last three years, he lamented.
"The BJP was fully endorsing the separatist agenda of Kashmir centric forces by having declined CBI probe in Rasana case, by its endorsement of the polices for stone-pelters, separatists and militants and its acquiescence to the decisions to shelve Sainik Colonies and KP Township Project in Kashmir. He regretted that then Dy CM Nirmal Singh had even gone to the extent of saying that dreaded terrorist Burhan Wani would not have been killed, had the govt known about his presence in the hide out busted by security forces," said Harsh.
Yashpaul Kundal while flaying the BJP-PDP alliance for refusing CBI probe in Rasana case, called upon the people to support the peoples' movement for justice and fair deal. He regretted that BJP had let down the people of Jammu by dubbing them as communal and supporters of criminals merely to keep its ally in good humour.
