Female tourist dies in Anantnag road accident

Anantnag, June 18: A female tourist died and three others including local cab driver sustained injuries after the vehicle in which they were travelling met with an accident on KP road in Mattan area of this southern district.
Reports said that the vehicle (Taveera) bearing registration number JKO1X -7122 turned turtle on Khanabal-Pahalgam road at Khanwari Mattan resulting injuries to four passengers including the driver.
They vehicle was on way to Srinagar from Pahalgam, reports said.
The injured tourists were immediately evacuated to nearby Mattan Hospital where doctors declared the female tourist dead.
The husband and daughter of the deceased were shifted to Anantnag district hospital for further treatment.
Deceased has been identified as Vandana Ketul Bhattji (50), a resident of Gujrat. Her husband Ketul Kumar Bhattji (55) and daughter Yashri Ketul were treated at District Hospital Anantnag.
A local trust helped the family monetarily so that they can airlift the body of deceased lady.
Bashir Ahmad s/o Abdul Reham, resident Sadia Kadal Srinagar who was behind the wheel also suffered minor injuries in the accident.
Police has taken cognizance of the road and initiated investigation into it.
