The interns interacted with the concerned Secretary of the Panchayat Ratnal, Munish who informed them that as per the standing guidelines of Swachh Bharat Mission, the govt employees and people having high economic status are not eligible for the financial for help of Rs 12000/- for construction of toilets. Moreover, the financial help is sanctioned in favour of the beneficiary after the completion of the said toilet which is a cumbersome procedure as the persons with meager resources may not be in a position to spend 12000/- on their own to begin with. He also informed the interns that only 67 households of Ratnal Panchayat are left where toilets are to be constructed under as per the Baseline Survey 2011 but after seven years of the baseline survey 2011, the situation as observed by the interns in their ground report has changed a great extent as far as the households not covered under Swachh Bharat Mission are concerned.
