Principal Secretary H&ME holds meeting

Srinagar, July 2: Principal Secretary to Govt. Health & Medical Education, J&K Dr Pawan Kotwal today emphasized the need for strong convergence of the line departments to ensure holistic health care and to improve the National De-worming Day (NDD) coverage.
He was addressing the State Level Coordination Committee meeting for National Deworming Day with the officials of the Health, Education, ICDS, Rural Development; Drinking Water and Sanitation; and Panchayati Raj departments here at Civil Secretariat, Srinagar. National Deworming Day is slated to be observed on 10th August 2018 across the Country with special focus on aspirational districts through Extended Gram Swaraj Abhiyan.
Dr Pawan Kotwal urged the line departments to give their full cooperation and coordinate with the health department in implementing NDD effectively. Dr Yashpal Sharma, Mission Director, National Health Mission, J&K while welcomed the participants.
Khalid Jahangir, Deputy Commissioner Kupwara; Dr N.A. Naqash; Deputy Commissioner Baramulla; Mr. Virji Hangloo State Mission Director, ICDS, J&K; Dr Fayaz Ahmad, Deputy Director, Directorate of health Servies, Kashmir; Mohd Mumtaz Ali, Director Rural Development Department, Jammu; Chief Medical Officer, Baramulla & Kupwara; Dr Mohd Shafi Koka; State Nodal Officer, NHM, J&K; Representatives from Education; Rural Sanitation, Rural Development Department, and Programme Manager (Child Health) from State Health Scociety were also present in the meeting.
