7/4/2018 10:25:35 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 4: Today a candle light march was organised against Mandsaur rape case by civil society volunteers in Miran sahib. Begining from Sun City farm and passing through main market Miran sahib, the march was joined by near about hundred volunteers. The participants raised slogans like "Stop violence against children", "Let girls and women live in freedom", "No more Kathua, no more mandsaur".
Addressing the public gathering, Om Parkash Khajuria said that "there are some forces in our country which are polarising people on rape case and dividing people on the name of religion. He said people of India will not tolerate such polarisation".
Speaking on the occasion Ruchi Sharma said "patriarchal socialisation is the root cause of this problem which has resulted into present rape culture". She emphasised more and more participation of female in such candle light marches.
R.D Thapa said "this is the high time for all of us should to come together to fight against rape cases otherwise this will spread to our places". He emphasised more on social awareness rather than tightening nose on law making because of lopsided implementation of laws.
Concluding the protest march Dheeraj said that "media, movies, songs and internet is increasingly spreading a culture of rape in which our coming generation is being socialised". He appealed all sections of society to identify and fight against these incidents.
