JAMMU, July 4: Police have claimed of busting a vehicle lifters gang operating in district Jammu by apprehending two persons at Miran Sahib.
Police sources said that on July 2, a police party of police station Miran Sahib while conducting patrolling in the jurisdiction of Police Station Miran Sahib reached near DakBungalow Miran Sahib and noticed two persons coming from village Dharp towards Marallian Miran Sahib on a motorcycle bearing registration No JK02AS-4754.
When motor cycle rider and pillion rider saw the police party, they tried to escape from the spot. On their suspicious movement, the police party chased them and apprehended both of them and enquired the particulars of motor cycle rider and pillion Rider. On this they disclosed their names Balwant Raj, son of Ram Gopal of Bakshi Colony, Seora Tehsil and District Jammu, Govind Ram, son of Ram Dass of Shergarh (Giddargallia), Tehsil Gadigarh District Jammu. The police party asked them to produce document of the above mentioned Motorcycle but both of them failed to give any satisfactory reply regarding motorcycle. The Police Party brought both of them along with motorcycle in Police Station for further questioning.
During questioning, suspect Balwant Raj disclosed that he along with Govind Ram had stolen vehicles and other items from the jurisdiction of various police stations of Jammudistrict.
On further questioning off the duo 4 motor cycle, 1 scooter, 3 Domestic Gas Cylinders and mobile were recovered from different locations of Jammu and Samba districts. |
