Is BJP trying to regain power in J&K ?
7/4/2018 10:57:53 PM
Is BJP trying to regain power by creating defections in the PDP and other main stream parties? This question has surfaced after three MLAs revolted against the PDP leadership and quit the party indicating that cracks have started emerging in the PDP and some more may quit the party. However, the PDP too is not power hungry because it has rejected feelers from the National Conference for the formation of the Government. Well numerically the PDP with 25 MLAs and the NC with 12 MLAs may not be able to muster support of 50 per cent of the members of the Assembly. On the other hand the PDP could have formed the Government with the support of the Congress which has 15 seats in the House but the Congress has rejected the offer from the PDP. This way if Vohra has kept the Assembly in suspended animation it is part of his mission to appease Prime Minister, Modi, so that even the event of cracks in either the PDP or the NC the BJP could form the Government. In fact the BJP with 25 MLAs need the support of 19 MLAs which could allow the BJP to form the Government in Jammu and Kashmir.
After losing power, cracks have surfaced in Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) after three sitting MLAs including a former minister revolted against party president Mehbooba Mufti and accused her of converting the party into "Family and dynastic fief". PDP MLA from Pattan and former minister Imran Ansari, his uncle and MLA Zadibal Abid Hussain Ansari and MLA Tangmarg Abbas Wani have rebelled against Mehbooba. "Mufti Sayeed had formed PDP against the dynastic and family rule. However, after his demise, Mehbooba converted the party into Family Democratic Party. Let her be with her Mama, Mosa, Chacha and Bhai," Imran said. Hinting at quitting the PDP, Imran said it is better to leave this party before things will fall on them. "What will we do in the party? Few people have hijacked the party. Though I was a minister, I have been conveying to them that we feel chocked", he said. Keeping the options open of joining another party, Imran said, "If there is any party in which there is no family raj and is led by a brave leader, I will certainly consider joining it. For the sake of people if I need to change 50 parties I will do it".
In reality those three PDP MLAs, who has quit the party, may join the BJP and this is evident from the statement of former minister blaming BJP for pulling the government down only for sake of power was Mehbooba's failure to lead the government efficiently led to fall of the government". Another evidence is from his statement in which he has stated the BJP supported the coalition government wholeheartedly and it was because of their endeavors that such a huge chunk of money was released to state for various developmental activities. "However, Mehbooba's incompetence as a leader resulted in the failure of the government machinery" This is enough proof of the desire of the three PDP MLAs joining the BJP for the sake of allowing the BJP another chance for formation of the Government in Jammu and Kashmir. Another the era of Aaya Rams and Gaya Rams has taken birth in the state because of the way Governor has kept the Assembly in suspended animation.
