Hand over investigation of FIRs against NPP leaders to CBI: Harsh
JKNPP protests against SSP Udhampur
7/26/2018 10:28:31 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 26: Enraged over dozens of FIRs registered against NPP leaders in District Udhampur on false and frivolous grounds during the last one year after Rayees Mohd Bhat took over as SSP Udhampur, a strong contingent of NPP workers led by Harsh Dev Singh Chairman JKNPP held protest demonstration near Press Club Jammu to ventilate their grievances against the terror tactics adopted by the Police in the NPP bastion.
The protestors raising slogans against District Administration Udhampur sought investigation of all FIRs lodged against NPP leaders from 2017 onwards through CBI.
Alleging persecution of NPP leaders and workers by District Administration Udhampur at the behest of BJP, Singh regretted that no cognizance was being taken of blatant and brazen display of authoritarianism in the said District. The NPP activists had been booked on multifarious occasions for raising demands for restoration of power and water supply, for providing staff in educational institutional and for raising their voice to highlight the other development needs of the area.
Similarly FIRs had been lodged against NPP leaders for holding public meetings, he claimed. There were instances where Police had intruded into the houses of NPP leaders in late night hours to harass their female members on the plea that there were reports of terrorists/miscreants hiding in their houses.
And while NPP leaders were being harassed and booked under frivolous cases, the goons, vandals and marauders owing allegiance to BJP were being promoted and encouraged to bully the NPP workers. He said that several BJP leaders had issued open threats in public meetings in the presence of Police officers to physically eliminate the Panthers leaders and its Chairman but no cognizance was taken by Police administration of District Udhampur despite such video-graphed speeches having been provided to them. Likewise no cognizance was taken of other criminal acts of BJP workers despite documentary and other evidence provided to the civil and Police Administration against them.
Making a mention of numerous frivolous FIRs having been registered against NPP leaders after 2017, he said that three such fake FIRs had been registered against himself by the said SSP on the directions of his political masters. He called for high level investigation into all such FIRs lodged with malafide intentions through CBI. He further sought an enquiry into the nexus of SSP with political persons and non registration of FIRs against politicians and criminals owing allegiance to BJP despite their culpable conduct and antecedents.
In a scathing attack on BJP, he also said that while in govt they had ensured the withdrawal of cases against stone-pelters and militants besides amnesty to other anti-nationals, the opposition leaders of Jammu fighting for the causes of Dogras were being bulled and tormented by them through the use of civil and Police Administration.
