Udhampur, Aug 4: NSS Units of Government \College for Women organizes Lecture and Cleanliness Drive under Swachhta Pakhwara
NSS units of Govt. College for Women (GCW henceforth) Udhampur under the vision of Dr. Chander Shekhar, Principal GCW Udhampur organized a guest lecturer in the backdrop of "Swachhta Pakhwara" 2018 (1st Aug. to 14th Aug. 2018) on the topic "The notion of Swachhta vis-a-vis Mind/Body relation." Sh. Hansraj Shastri from Bhartiya Yoga Sansthan Udhampur Ikaai was the resource person of the day.
The programme began with the formal welcome address by Prof. Sanjay Kumar, NSS programme officer GCW Udhampur whereby he welcomed the guest speaker and NSS volunteers present in the programme. Thereafter, he invited resource person of the day to speak on the occasion.
Hansraj Shastri threw light on the cleanliness of body which is instrumental in rending a healthy mind. If and only if we have a healthy body we can have good mental predicament. He also exhorted upon the fact that how Yoga as a way of life is significant to maintain meaningful balance in our life world. The formal vote of thanks was delivered by Prof. Swarna Bhougal, NSS programme officer GCW udhampur.
In the afternoon session a massive cleanliness drive was launched across the length and breadth of the campus whereby volunteers actively participated in the event and cleaned the campus and collected the waste and also saw the feasible methods to dispose the waste in such a manner that it may not be detrimental to the ecosystem.
