Early Times Report
jammu, Aug 4: In order to gear up the major developmental works for speedy disposal of the cases, the Vice Chairman JDA RK Shavan KAS convened a meeting of the officers. In the meeting the various works related to the development were reviewed and status of tenders issued discussed. It was intimated by the Executive Engineer JDA Div No. I that the open stage at Bahu Plaza is almost ready and the tender for putting it to the open auction stood already issued. It is pertinent to mention that in order to add to the recreational value of Bahu Plaza which has become commercial hub an open stage for the items like Folk dances, cultural activities, mushaira, DJ Parties etc has been constructed by the JDA at the cost of Rs. 40.00 lacs which has modern facilities like changing room for the artists and all weather electric fittings. The work related to River Tawi Front Development and the development of Economic centre was also reviewed. The Deputy Director Geology and Mining intimated that the soil investigation at the proposed economic centre is under process and the report shall be submitted once the data is compiled. Meanwhile acting tough against the encroachers, the JDA retrieved about 30 kanals of land at Chinnore Chowk opposite police post it was encroached by the encroachers. The VC JDA directed to prepare the list of unauthorized occupants so that eviction process is initiated. One Mr Kuldeep Raj Gupta is reported to have encroached the land by way of constructing a illegal janjghar and parking space and has sold the land illegally to the migrants. The VC JDA has directed the Tehsildar to fence the entire land within weeks time and lodge FIR against the encroachers.
The JDA also got fenced two kanals of prime land at Sitni near National Highway Nagrota bye-pass which was got vacated by the Deputy Commissioner Jammu as part of anti encroachment drive along Highway. The Additional Deputy Commissioner Mr. Arun Kumar Manhas got this land vacated by taking police assistance and asked JDA to get it fenced.
In yet another important decision the VC JDA directed the XEN Mega Project to issue EOI for seeking the work for Geo-tagging of all JDA land including the land coming under the banks of River Tawi. Those who attended the meeting are Superintending Engineer JDA, XEN Div No. I, Xen Mega Project, JDA, Deputy Director Geology and Mining.
