Jammu, Aug 27: Baby is the dream of every couple but some are born with simple or having many complex Urological and genital problems. For sufferer children of City of Temples, Dr Lucky Gupta is becoming a ray of hope.
Dr Lucky Gupta, Gold Medalist and an eminent Pediatric Surgeon trained from Prestigious Institute All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi has done various surgeries on children upto the age of 18years who were suffering from complex Urological and genital disorders. After completing her MBBS, MS in General Surgery and Mch.(super-specialty) in Pediatric Surgery from AIIMS New Delhi, Dr Lucky has presently started her clinic in Janipur under the name and style of Child Surgical centre at I M Clinic.
Talking to media persons, Dr Lucky Gupta said, "Many children of Jammu and Kashmir state facing Inter-sex disorders whose primary treatment in the state was not possible but she decided to take up the challenge and is performing surgeries on the effected children for almost a decade."
Her special interest is in patients having ambiguity and hypospadias patients. Although the problem of Child with hypospadias and undetermined sex is though not uncommon yet quite poorly understood subject. Due to the availability of limited expertise in this field in our country, most of the children are either never diagnosed or mismanaged. She has been operating upon variety of pediatric surgical conditions which has provided great benefit to people of the state especially for those who had to leave state for treatment in higher centres leading to lots of unnecessary expenditure as well as difficulty in follow-up period.
Majority of the surgeries performed are for problems like Ambiguous genitalia, hypospadias, undescended testis, spinal problems like myelomeningocele, tethered cord syndrome, hydrocephalus, hernia, hydrocele, appendix, hydronephrosis of kidney, bladder anomalies like exstrophy bladder, bladder stones, anorectal anomalies like absent anal opening, piles, prolapse, tef, abdominal surgeries, etc.
Dr Lucky further stated that she learnt basic and advanced treatment of these disorders from pioneers of the subject from AIIMS ,NEW DELHI and wanted to utilise medical and surgical techniques for the betterment of the patients in her state.
Dr Lucky Gupta vowed that her dream is to bring superior facilities regarding pediatric problems in Jammu and Kashmir so that every child born will have perfect health conditions and common masses may not be forced to knock at the door of other states for any pediatric treatment.
