Jammu, Sept 10: Four students from British International School, Sainik Colony, participated in WELMUN (Welham United Nations Conference) at the Welham Boys School, Dehradun..
These students were selected for different committees and were recognized during the MUN session.
Narpendra of Level 8 was selected for Counter Terrorism Committee, Bhupinder from Level 7 for International Press Committee, Jaskirat of Level 7 for Human Rights Committee and Drowne for Lok Sabha Committee. Drowne and Narpendra got verbal mention in their respective committees. The Chief Guest of the conference was Mr Anil Trigunayat (IFS Retd) the Former Ambassador to Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and Guest of Honour was Georgina Kenchington an International Politics Major at Walsh School of Foreign Service.
A total of 20 schools participated in the event. It was great platform where prestigious schools like Welham Girls, Dehradun; Indian High School, Dubai; Modern School Barakhama Road,Delhi; Mayo College Girl's School, Mayo College Boy's School and Scindia School,Gwalior put up a great competition for all the other schools. |
