BANI, Sept 10: The MGNREGA workers who remained unpaid for the last three years by the Rural Development Department (RDD) Bani held protest demonstration here today.
A large number of workers under the banner of Senior BJP Leader and Ex Sarpanch Bani Uttam Chand Goswami along with Thakur Dass BJP Mandal President Bani and Ex Sarpanch Challoge, Susheel Kumar Ex Sarpanch Gatti, Brij Mohan Ex Sarpanch Chandel, Bishamber Firngita BJP District vice President Basholi and others assembled at Mela ground Bani and started protest demonstration. They were shouting slogans against RDD authorities and demanding payment of then pending wages.
Later, in the form of protest rally, they moved to the office of SDM Office Bani where ACD Kathua Suka Paul Singh Tehsildar Bani Sudesh Kumar,BDO Bani Akil Sadotra,SHO Bani Mohan Lal attract with labour and ACD Kathua assured that their payment will be paid within 15 days.The protester gave ultimatum that if their payment not paid within 15 days the Labour again go on indefinite strike W.e. f 1st of October 2018 at Tehsildar Office Bani. |
