Kissan Welfare Organisation organises day long Conference

Kathua, Sept 15: One day Kissan conference was held today at Kathua by Kissan Welfare Organisation. The
conference was presided over by Rohit Choudhary, National President of Kisan Welfare Organisation.
The chief guest was Karnail Singh leader from Punjab and President of Internationalist Democratic Platform ID Khajuria a peace activist welcomed the guests and all participants. In his welcome address, he said that durable peace on borders is the need of kisans of Jammu and Kashmir. The planning of Bunkers cannot provide education system, modern health facilities cannot be reached on borders, mobile towers are not accessible due to which students cannot access the internet and they are not able to get to know what is happening around. National President of KWO, Rohit Choudhary demanded marketing mandis within approach of farmers; MSP should be doubles on actual expenditure incurred on crops.
He has also demanded pension equivalent to government employees after attaining the age of 60. He added loans to farmers, fishing farms, poultry farms, organic crops, horticulture projects should be provided on cheaper interest rates. Cheif Guest, Karnail Singh said that in present system the most suffering lot is farmers, and they are opting suicide which represents the darkest picture of democracy. He has also made detailed deliberation on panchayats and gram sabhas. He said every government claims that they are decentralising powers to villages, but it is a sorry state of affair that the authorities have totally failed to conduct regular gram sabha meetings, which are mandatory recomended by Panchayat Act.
It needs consistent efforts to achieve political, economical and legislative powers in favour of gram sabha's under Panchayat Raj. Master Sardar Singh, Senior Leader of kissan movement addressed in the conference and unananimously resolved above discussed rights of farmer community for immediate resolution of all and start.
