NHPC hosts 42nd Annual General Meeting

Jammu, Sept 27: NHPC Limited, hosted its 42nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) at Faridabad on 27th September 2018. Shri Balraj Joshi, CMD, NHPC addressed the shareholders at the AGM wherein members of NHPC Board including Independent Directors and other senior officers from NHPC were also present.
While addressing the gathering, Shri Joshi expressed his gratitude to all the shareholders for their contribution to the success of the company. Shri Joshi also highlighted the achievements made by NHPC during FY 2017-18. While presenting the Company's Annual Report for the year ended 31st March 2018, Shri Joshi informed that the company had earned Profit after Tax of 2758.65 Crore. He further added that the NHPC Board has recommended a dividend of Rs 1.40 per share for the period. The Company generated 22,975 MUs of electricity. Shri Joshi also spoke that NHPC has crossed the milestone of 7,000 MW installed capacity on consolidated basis with commissioning of Kishanganga H.E. Project (3X110 MW) at Bandipora, Jammu & Kashmir and 50 MW Solar PV Project in Tamil Nadu.
Shri Joshi highlighted that presently two hydroelectric projects namely Parbati-II and Subansiri Lower having an aggregate installed capacity of 2,800 MW are in construction stage.
Unit-I of the Parbati- II HE Project was already synchronized with grid and Unit-II has been synchronized on 22nd September, 2018. Company is in the process of development of an 8 MW wind power project in Palakkad, Kerala and 32 MW solar power project in Uttar Pradesh through Bundelkhand Saur Urja Limited and four hydroelectric projects through Joint Venture Companies.
