Punjab wrestler Prince lifts Bathindi dangal title

KATRA, Sept 28: Punjab Wrestler Prince Patha Padarth Pahelwan village Kohali near Amritsar lifted Annual Bathindi Dangal Title by defeating Wrestler Benia Min of Basantgarh in District Udhampur in the final main bout that lasted for 21 minutes at village Bathindi in Tehsil and District Jammu.
Dangal was organized by Bathindi Panj Peer Dangal Committee in Collaboration with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association under the supervision of Sarpanch Noor Alam, Sarpanch Mohd. Alam and Mohd. Aslam.
Treasurer Indian Style Wrestling Association of India Shiv Kumar Sharma was the chief Guest on the occasion who distributed cash prizes of Rs 6, 50,000/- among the Wrestlers. Shiv Kumar Sharma appealed to all the youth to adopt Sports as a part of life to stay healthy.
He said Sports play vital role to keep mind and physique fit and also builds self confidence and develops personality besides to help in keeping youth away from Social evils like drug abuse, Smoking and Drinking.
Retired S.P Prithvi Raj Sharma presided over the function. Mohd Aslam was the guest of honour. Mohd. Aslam contributed Rs 75,000/- as financial assistance to the organizer. Winner of Ist malli bout Wrestler Prince was cash awarded with Rs 60,000/- by Chief Guest Shri Shiv Kumar Sharma, Sapanch Noor Alam, Sarpanch Mohd. Alam and Mohd. Aslam while runner up Wrestler Benia Min got Rs 40,000/- by Kurshad Ali, Mohd Alam (Mudha) and Prithvi Raj Sharma.
67 bouts were played in the one day long Dangal. 2nd main bout was won by Shamsher Pahelwan of Dinanagar (Punjab) who defeated Wrestler Roshan Gujjar of Delhi. Winner Shamsher was cash awarded with Rs 20,000/- while runner-up Wrestler Roshan Gujjar got Rs 15,000/-.Members and Technical officials who helped for smooth conduct of Dangal included Sarpanch Noor Alam (President), Sarpanch Mohd. Alam, Farman Ali, Mohd. Aslam, Kurshad Ali, Mohd. Alam (Mudha), Shah Mohd., Sain Mohd., Mohd. Fareed, Krishan Singh, Mulk Raj and Raj Hussian.
Meanwhile Amir Khan beat Malkith, Noor Shakar beat Bablu, Ali beat Manjeet, Bobari beat Bharat Bhushan, Kaka beat Susheel Kumar, Babba beat Sharif, Ajay beat Nawaj Ali, bout played between Ishaq Ahmed (Lallu) V/S Rimple ended in a draw.
