Admission to 5 new medical colleges to start in June 2019 in 3 disciplines

Jammu, Sept 28: The Health and Medical Education department has decided to start first batch of admissions to all the new five government medical colleges from June 2019. In the initial phase, admissions will be started in three disciplines and the remaining courses will start in next phases.
Sources in the H&ME department informed Early Times that the department has decided to start first batch of the admissions in the newly established five Government Medical Colleges of Doda, Rajouri, Kathua, Anantnag and Baramulla.
"Initially the department has decided to start courses in three disciplines viz-a-viz Physiology, Anatomy and Biochemistry", sources said, adding that the first batch would sit in these medical colleges from June 2019 and the applicants would be from the NEET qualified candidates. Sources further said that in all the medical colleges, the department of Health and Medical Education department has created 675 posts each including of Professors, Associate Professors, Assistant Professors, Medical Officers, Paramedical staff as well as Administrative staff including Principal, Controller Examination, Registrar etc.
"For the posts of Professors and Associate Professors, the department has decided to take the services of retired Professors in the initial run, whereas for the posts of Assistant Professors, the department has already forwarded over 300 posts to Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission for recruitment", sources said. They further informed that for providing paramedical staff the H&ME department has forwarded a total of over 1022 posts of paramedical staff to Jammu and Kashmir Service Selection Board for recruitment.
"The department has decided to start the classes from the next session and if the infrastructure of the Medical Colleges would not be in place, temporary infrastructure would be created to start the classes", an official said, adding that if everything would be as per schedule the classes would start.
