Farmers' Training Programme Organised

jAMMU, Oct 6: Farmers Training Centre, Jammu today organized a one day Farmers Training Camp at village Saranoo of Rajouri District in which 50 farmers of the area participated.
The programme was conducted under the directions and guidance of Director Agriculture Jammu H. K. Razdan and Deputy Director of Agriculture (Trainings) Jammu Sunil Koul. Speaking on the occasion Training Officer Jammu Sarmesh Ghasi advised the farmers to improvise the crop production with the adoption of recommended agriculture techniques and through the usage of High Yielding Varieties' Seed and latest agricultural machinery. He asked the farmers to avail the benefits of Kisan Credit Cards (KCC) Scheme to meet out the expenses to raise the crops and also to get their crops insured under newly launched Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY).
Deepak Kumar Farm Management Specialist, Jammu exhorted upon the farmers to avail the benefits of various farmers welfare schemes including PMKSY, Soil Health Cards Scheme (SCHS), Sub-Mission on Machinery (SMAM) and NAFCC. He said that the farmers can double their income through value addition of their products, diversification of agriculture through apiculture, organic vegetable cultivation, mushroom cultivation and growing of marigold & cut flowers. Dr Vikas Sharma and Dr Sunil Misra from Regional Agriculture Research Station (RARS) Rajouri, SKUAST-Jammu gave a detailed lectures on the scientific cultivation of wheat and other Rabi crops in the programme.
Revti Nandan, Agriculture Extension Officer (FTC) and G. D. Bakshi, Krishi Pandit also attended the programme besides others. Small Hand Tools, Refreshments and literature on various schemes and programmes for the awareness of the farmers was also distributed on the occasion.
