| Ten taken into preventive custody | | |

Jammu, Oct 6 Ten people, including four residents of Uttar Pradesh, were taken into preventive custody on Saturday for their alleged involvement in drug trafficking and other unlawful activities in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district, police said.
The residents of UP, running barber shops in different areas here, were detained along with three local youths from Rajouri town, a police spokesman said. All the seven were detained on the orders of executive magistrate, he said.
He said three more persons were taken into custody from Thanamandi area on the detection of executive magistrate of first class.
2 teachers Suspended
for dereliction of duty

SRINAGAR, Oct 6 : Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Lolab Ahmed Hussain has placed two teachers under suspension for dereliction of duty in a School of diver village of Lolab in north Kashmir's Kupwara district here today.
SDM lolab while speaking with our correspondent Azad Hussain over phone said that during surprise check of various schools of diver Lolab, he found two teachers absent from their duties. The suspended teachers included Khursheed Ahmed Shah, a teacher in upper primary school (UPS) Naik Mohallah diver Lolab and Showket Ahmed Ganie, teacher of the same school.
"One of the suspended teacher was earlier present in school but when i visited there he was not present in school and i placed two teachers of the same school under suspension" SDM Lolab said adding that he also sought explanation from them for being absent from duties. |
