Swatchhta Hi Sewa campaign concludes

Jammu, Oct 6: The two week long Swachhta hi Sewa hai campaign concluded at Government Polytechnic Jammu.
Poster making and wall painting competition was organized on the concluding day and the posters and paintings brushed by students were inspected by Ramesh Kumar Deputy Commissioner Jammu along with Rishpaul Singh (ADC, Jammu).
The initiative was taken under the guidance of Director Technical Education, J&K Anoo Malhotra (KAS). Arun Bangotra, Principal of the institution said exhorted upon the students to make the environment neat, clean and pollution free to fulfil Mahatma Gandhi vision of clean India.
In the Poster making competition, Ist prize was bagged by Swati Manhas 5th Semester Civil Engineering while 2nd prize was won by Ayushi Gupta, 5th Semester Computer Engineering and third prize was clinched by Shibam Sharma, 5th Semester Civil Engineering student.
The judges for the competition were Ar Ritika Wadhera, HOD Architecture, Er Akash Dasgotra, Instructor, Civil Engg and Ms Sakshi Kapai, Lecturer, I&C. The two-week campaign was started with a Swachhta pledge at the start of the event in which all the staff and students took pledge to keep the surroundings clean and to preserve the environment and took the oath not to use polythene followed by cleanliness drive within all its department as well as in public areas, rooftops, playground and all nearly areas.
The program was organised by N.S.S team of the college under guidance of co-ordinator Er. Ajay Thappa and Er Sanam Gupta. Other who participated in the campaign were Er Inderjeet Singh, Workshop Supdt, Er K.S Bhatia, HOD Mechanical, Er Sukhdeep Singh, HOD Civil, Er Zia-ul Haq, HOD Computer, Ar Ritika Wadhera, HOD Architecture, Mr Amit Sharma, HOD Travel and Tourism Er Rajiv Kohli, HOD I&C along with other faculty members and students.
