NDS presents Lalit Kala Shri Award to Ganesh Sharma

JAMMU, Oct 6: Nami Dogri Sanstha (Regd.) organised a felicitation fuinction at Jammu to honours the son of the soil and an eminent sclupturist Ganesh Sharma and conferred upon him the "Lalit Kala Shree" award. Kavinder Gupta, Former Deputy Chief Minister, Jammu and Kashmir was the Chief Guest on the occasion whereas U. K. Jalali, Senior Advocate presided over the function. R. D. Sharma, Former Vice-Chancellor of Jammu University and now the Vice Chancellor of Noida International University was Guest of Honour. Rohit Choudhary, Social and RTI Activist was Special Invitee whereas Sohail Kazmi, Veteran Journalist and Mahant Rajesh Sharma Bittu were Special Guests.
Dr. Chanchal Sharma, Organising Secretary of Nami Dogri Sanstha read a detailed paper on life and works of Ganesh Sharma. Capt. Lalit Sharma IFS, Convener NDS also shared the dias.
Ganesh Sharma is recipient of many International and national level awards, gold medals and honoured by many reputed organisations at international and national levels. He has held exhibition of his works at international, national and state levels which were highly admired and lauded. Capt. Lalit Sharma in his opening address said that creative arts divert our energies towards positive pursuits which help in draining off the venom and negativities from the society. Dogra Harish Kaila said that honouring the discovering artists is moral duty. Ganesh Sharma also shared his experiences as a sclupturist.
Kavinder Gupta while appreciating the tireless efforts of NDS for Dogri language and Duggar culture said that our mother tongue is our pride and identity and rightfully connects with the mother earth in right prospective. Rohit Cho-udhary said that for furtherance and sustenance of our art and culture we should always remain connected to the ground.
