Udhampur, Oct 28: Decade on the Guest House awaits completion. The work was started about ten years ago in Panchari tehsil district Udhampur near Sankri devistan
Sources informed that PWD is the executing agency of this construction work. It is pertinent to mention here that an annual fair is organized every year at Sankri Devsthan in which thousands of devotees visit from different parts of the State. However lack of accomodation and other facilities subjects the pilgrims to inconvenience.
Apart from the pilgrimage place this is also a picnic spot for the locals but lack of facilities plays the spoilsport.
Local people and Sankri Devta Committee have appealed to the PWD to complete the work of guest house but the department is not paying any heed even no other.
Kulbir Katoch-a local said, due to lack of lodging, the visiting people are frustrated and they return back due to which the economy of the area is being affected.
He said, if the guest house facility becomes available then the economy of the place will get a boost and tourism spots will also get a highlight.
When contacted Xen PWD said that this project is not in my knowledge but surely I will look into the matter . |
