Early Times Report

Jammu, Oct 28: Peoples Democratic Party, which headed the coalition government in Jammu and Kashmir, for more than three and a half years stands exposed.
Revelations which are coming to fore are shocking, allegations which were leveled by the PDP rebels are proving correct. Soon after the PDP-BJP government fell in J&K, senior PDP leader Imran Raza Ansari raised a banner of revolt and claimed that Peoples Democratic Party has been turned into a "Family Democratic Party."
Other disgruntled leaders also leveled serious allegations against the PDP leadership. "The scams which were pointed out by the PDP rebels are slowly getting exposed. The recruitment scam in J&K Bank has shocked everyone," said an analyst.
He said that when recruitments were taking place in the J&K Bank speculations were rife that recruitments are not being done in a proper manner. "A PDP leader had emerged as a main player and it was alleged that he took huge kickbacks to get the blue-eyed persons appointed in the bank," he added.
A Kashmir watcher said soon after the PDP-BJP government fell another scam involving a relative of the former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti came to fore. The relative of the former CM had been given a quarter at posh Gupkar area at a throw away price. However, the allotment was cancelled after the Early Times highlighted the issue.
He said that Governor Satya Pal Malik has taken a "bold stance" since the day he has come into power. "He has exposed the real face of the Kashmir centric politicians, who after grabbing power, filled their own coffers and accommodated their own kith and kin," the Kashmir watcher added.
He said when PDP was in power it patronized the separatists and their workers by providing them with the government jobs. "The PDP leaders even got stone-pelters appointed as special police officers. One of them ran away with 8 weapons from the residence of the PDP leader. The Governor Malik should order a probe to ascertain what all did PDP do when it was in power," he added.
A politician said that a few PDP leaders, who were all part of the family, and one or two "yes men" of the former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti were running the government and they made a fortune during all these years.
