PANIPAT: In yet another shocking incident of sexual abuse from Haryana, a 17-year-old girl was dragged to the field from her home in the middle of the night and gang-raped by eight men.

The incident took place in Panipat's Sanoli.

Following dinner, the victim along with her three sisters and mother went inside home to sleep. The five slept on different cots within a single room.

At around 11 pm, two accused persons – Hashim and Ishrar – climbed the six-foot boundary wall of the residence and entered the room where the minor was sleeping.

After gagging the victim, the accused dragged her outside to a field and proceeded to sexually abuse her.

Six more men joined on the field to gang-rape the minor.

After two hours, the victim was dropped back outside the home. She was threatened not to reveal the incident to anyone.

On Friday, the victim mustered courage and narrated the incident to her mother. Following this, the family decided to approach the police.

Upon finding out, the accused persons later arrived at the victim's home and threatened the family not to file a case.

After the accused left their home, the family immediately took the victim to the police station to file a case.

The police registered the case against six accused and two unnamed persons.

Investigations are currently underway.
