India gives befitting reply to Pak attack on Brigade Hqrs in Poonch

Jammu, Oct 31: In retaliation to Pakistan army's attempt to target Brigade HQs in Poonch town on October 23 by firing 105 mm RPG, Indian army has targeted Pakistan army's Brigade HQ installations at Hajira town on October 29 inflicting major loss to Pakistan army.
Sources said apprehensions of another round of tension on the Line of Control following both the incidents can't be ruled out in the near future.
Today Lt Gen Ranbir Singh, Army Commander, Northern Command, accompanied by the White Knight Corps Commander, Lt Gen Paramjit Singh visited forward posts in Nowshera and Poonch sectors to review the operational preparedness and the prevailing security situation.
Senior army officers responsible for protection of the LoC in Rajouri & Poonch districts briefed Army Commanders about the current operational and prevailing security situation and the preparedness of the formations in dealing with the same.
The Army Commander was also briefed on the actions being taken to ensure a robust counter infiltration and counter terrorist grid to enable continued peace and stability in the region.
"The Army Commander interacted with the soldiers and complimented them for their unwavering dedication to duty, selfless devotion and high standard of professionalism" said PRO, Defence.
Army Commander was appreciative of the measures and standard operating procedures instituted by the units and formations in their area of responsibility to minimise the casualties due to cease fire violations and infiltration bids.
He exhorted all ranks on the need to remain vigilant to counter the nefarious designs of the enemy and anti- national elements.
The Army Commander was also updated by the White Knight Corps Commander on current security situation and operations conducted in the recent past.
