Newly elected councilors of district Kathua take oath

KATHUA, Nov 1: Newly elected councillors from Kathua Municipal Council (MC) and other local bodies of district Kathua took oath today.
Councillors of Kathua MC were administered oath at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Memorial Hall, near Kathua MC office.
The Kathua Municipal Council has 21 elected councilors who took oath in English, Dogri and Hindi languages. The new members comprised of 7 women councillors.
The oath ceremony was administered by Additional District Commissioner, Kathua, Ghanshyam Singh. Chief Executive Officer, Municipal Council Kathua, Sanjeev Gandotra and Naib Tehsildar, Sham Singh were also present on this occasion.
The ADC on the occasion congratulated the newly elected Councillors and stressed them to work with dedication and honesty for strengthening the developmental process on grass root level.
Meanwhile, in Lakhanpur Municipal Committee, 7 winning candidates took oath at Municipal Committee in presence of Tehsildar Kathua.
In Billawar, 13 candidates who were declared elected took oath as councillors in presence of ADC Billawar, Joginder Singh Rai and other officials.
Basohli Municipal Committee that witnessed 13 candidates declared elected in the ULB elections took oath in presence of ADC Basohli, Sanjay Gupta.
In Hiranagar Municipal Committee, 13 winning candidates took oath in presence of SDM, Suresh Sharma.
