KISHTWAR, Nov 1: In a major security breach unidentified gunmen believed to be militants today evening shot dead BJP State Secretary Anil Kumar Parihar (52 years) and his brother Ajeet Kumar Parihar (55 years) while they were on its way to home after closing their stationary shop located outside Old DC Office Complex Kishtwar at around 8.30 PM.
As per the details available with "Early Times", both the brothers were shot in their head and died on spot. The incident took place in densely populated area of Kishtwar known as Tapal Mohallah situated in Ward seven and both were passing through a dark alley when they were shot in close range.
After hearing the gun shots people came out of their houses and found the Parihar brothers lying in the pool of blood and immediately shifted them to District Hospital Kishtwar where they were declared as brought dead.
After hearing about the incident, the people started rushing towards District Hospital Kishtwar where the people from both the communities held strong protest against the administration and police failure.
The angry protestors ransacked the hospital and raised anti Pakistan slogans demanding arrest of the culprits involved in the killing of the brothers.
Anil Parihar was active in politics since last over two decades and unsuccessfully contested 2008 elections on Panther Party ticket after BJP refused ticket to him, but recently had once again join the BJP while his brother Ajeet Parihar was an employee in State Forest Corporation.
The angry protestors also exchange heated arguments with the SSP Kishtwar Rajinder Kumar Gupta who was pushed by the protestors and was forced to leave the main hospital building complex. The angry people also exchange blows with senior police officers who maintain the maximum restraint.
The protestors later also took to streets and held strong protest and laid siege around police station Kishtwar. The protestors also ransacked some private vehicles parked on main road. The police said they are probing the incident. Later DC Kishtwar issued an order imposing curfew in the Kishtwar town.
