Lady drug peddler arrested; associate escapes

Rajouri, Nov 1: Police today claimed to have arrested a woman drugs peddler from Dhangri Chowk area and recovered about 10/11 grams of contraband drug from her possession.
Police spokesman said that locals from the area informed police that a lady is moving suspiciously with a youth in the area and also apprehended that she is in possession of some sensitive and illegal material. Acting on the information, a team of police station Rajouri headed by Inspector Ajaz Haider-SHO Rajouri under the supervision of DySP HQrs Rajouri Govind Rattan was rushed to the spot who managed to intercept the lady who was identified as Naila Kouser resident of Dhangri.
Spokesman further said that about 10/11 grams of alleged drugs powder was recovered from her possession which was seized by Police.
A case under FIR No. 619/2018 under sections 8/21/29 NDPS Act has been registered against accused lady while a man has also been booked who was also involved in peddling of drugs and his identity has been kept secret.
SSP Rajouri Yougal Manhas has hailed the positive approach of the people from Dhangri who played pivotal role in the arrest of lady drugs peddler and appealed all the people to co-operate police with same spirit.
Search for the associate who escaped from the spot has been launched.
